Reno, NV.  Opening Brüka Theatre’s 2014/2015 season our 22nd year in downtown Reno on September 12, 2014, Rod Hearn directs Gruesome Playground Injuries, by Pulitzer wait-listed young playwright Rajiv Joseph.  It is a darkly comic play about the 30-year relationship between Kayleen and Doug, who never quite get it together in any normal, traditional sense.  When they yearn to touch each other, it's platonic, often pressing a fresh, gaping wound or empty eye socket.  Physical suffering, for these two damaged souls, is much more intimate.  Starring Stacy Johnson and Wesley Gaines McNair.

The matinee performance on September 14 will be followed by a talk-back that focuses on significant issues in the play related to self-harm and suicide.  National Suicide Prevention Week runs September 8-14, drawing attention to the issue across the country.

Reservations are available through our box office at (775) 323-3221. Individual tickets are $20 for general $18 for students, seniors and military and all tickets are $25 at the door. Reservations are also available at the Melting Pot World Emporium @ their new location: 1047 S. Virginia Street in Reno. We validate convenient parking at the Parking Gallery on First and Sierra Streets.  Check us out at www.bruka.org. Tickets available online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com
