Reno, NV.  Brüka Theatre presents In The Next Room, or The Vibrator Play.   This comedy about marriage, intimacy, and electricity is written by award winning playwright Sarah Ruhl and Directed by Karen Chandler.  Nominated for three Tony awards, the play is set in the 1880s at the dawn of the age of electricity and based on the bizarre historical fact that doctors used vibrators to treat 'hysterical' women (and some men). Ruhl centers her play on "how we separate our bodily functions and labor and love" examining the nature of marriage and what it truly means to love someone.  In The Next Room, or the vibrator play premiered at Berkeley Rep in 2009.  No one under the age of 17 recommended.

In The Next Room, or the vibrator play opens Friday, January 27, 2012 followed by a post show opening night champagne reception. In The Next Room (or the vibrator play) shows for 13 total performances: January 27 & 28.  February 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 15 (February 15th is a special Wednesday night show) 16, 17, 18, 2012.  There is a Sunday matinee on February 12  @ 2 PM followed by a talk back with the company. A Christmas Carol

Brüka Theatre presents A Christmas Carol, written by Charles Dickens and is adapted and directed for three actors by Michael Grimm. Brüka’s second show of the 19th season is a story of redemption and of the power of the Christmas spirit that has become an unrivaled holiday tradition in the English-speaking world. The revival of Brüka Theatre’s original adaption of Dickens' masterpiece casts three actors, Bob Grimm, Mary Bennett and Michael Grimm, to portray more than 20 characters on a minimalist set, with an original soundtrack by Gary Kephart and Wolfgang Price. This production gives the audience the unique opportunity to experience the story with the much neglected narration of Dickens as it’s centerpiece.  It's sure to give you and your family a healthy dose of the "Christmas Spirit."
