Reno, NV.  Opening Brüka Theatre’s 2014/2015 season our 22nd year in downtown Reno on September 12, 2014, Rod Hearn directs Gruesome Playground Injuries, by Pulitzer wait-listed young playwright Rajiv Joseph.  It is a darkly comic play about the 30-year relationship between Kayleen and Doug, who never quite get it together in any normal, traditional sense.  When they yearn to touch each other, it's platonic, often pressing a fresh, gaping wound or empty eye socket.  Physical suffering, for these two damaged souls, is much more intimate.  Starring Stacy Johnson and Wesley Gaines McNair.

The winner of “The Best Overall Production” in the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival is a satire on the melodramatic fears of America during the Cold War and today.  In this comedy, set in the 1950s, the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein are having their annual quiche breakfast. Will they be able to keep their cool when Communists descend on their idyllic town?  Costumes by Cynthia Lewis & Dressed Like That.  Presented as part of Artown.
