“BANDIDO!”  CALLBACKS/AUDITIONS – BRÜKA THEATRE
The American Melodrama of Tiburcio Vasquez - Notorious California Bandit. 

CALL BACKS/AUDITIONS will be September 21st,  2014 @ 2:00 PM. 
If you are interested in auditioning for Bandido by Luiz Valdez, please bring headshot/resume.
Brüka Theatre, 99 N. Virginia Street, Reno.  Enter in side door on First Street.

We are also looking for technical people and volunteers.

Bandido!” is an anti-melodrama that takes place during the Gold Rush. It is a play with in a play. At the center of the play is Tiburcio Vasquez, in one light, a resistance fighter to his people, in another, a desperado whose story has become part of the American mythology of the Old West. He was the last man to be legally, publically executed in California, hanged in San Jose in 1875. The brave villain or hero, tells his story through flashbacks. While Vasquez is in jail, he sells photographs of himself for fifty cents. He makes his stories of love, jealousy, and betrayal come to life. Valdez, in “Bandido” is not only famous for his exploits but for his womanizing. He leaves his money and inheritance to Rosario and the daughter he had with her.

Rehearsals - Rehearsals for Bandido! will take place from January-February, 2014 with a read-thru prior this fall.
